This is the current coxswain, Peter Huxtable. He's been in the role since 1991, and is the longest serving crew member at Shoreham.
He was awarded the MBE in the 2005 New Year honours list for his 36 years of service to the RNLI.

Peter has a reputation for working hard to promote the work of the Institution, as well as supporting other local charities.

Throughout his career he has been formally recognised by the RNLI on a number of occasions, including being awarded the Institution's Thanks on Vellum for his service as coxswain to the yacht Trimley Maid in 1999.

Almost 20 years earlier, he received the same award for his work, then as part of the crew, during the rescue of the crew of the coaster Athina B.
