The all weather lifeboat was tasked to a broken down 12 metre fishing vessel 19 miles south east of Shoreham.

The boat with three crew on board had suffered steering failure.

The vessel was towed back towards Shoreham and anchored in a safe anchorage area two miles outside Shoreham Harbour. The lifeboat remained on standby overnight in case it required further assistance.

The boat was later towed to Portsmouth Harbour by another vessel.
