The all weather lifeboat was launched to a swimmer who had got into difficulty in the rough seas and windy conditions and was being swept out towards Black RockĀ at Brighton. As the lifeboat arrived it was established that he had been pulled out of the water by a beach lifeguard with the assistance of Sussex Police and the Shoreham and Newhaven coastguard teams. He was passed into the care of ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital. The lifeboat remained on scene for a short time and then returned to station.
