The inshore lifeboat was launched to assist the 26ft dive vessel Black Pearl who was taking on water near the shore line east of Shoreham Harbour. When the crew arrived on scene the vessel was aground in the surf line but everyone was off the vessel and holding on to vessel’s tow rope. As the tide was rising two crew members were put ashore to assist with vessel while the third crew member went back to the lifeboat station to collect two more crew members to help with the tow in the ILB. The tow line was bought out to the crew by a paddle boarder and the dive boat was then towed off the beach and into Shoreham Harbour and on to their berth at Sussex Yacht Club.
