The inshore lifeboat was launched to a report of a sailing vessel in trouble off the Church of the Good Shepherd at Shoreham Beach after the Shoreham coastguard team established that it required assistance as it nearly beached and narrowly missed sea groynes on several occasions.
Alongside the all weather lifeboat which had also launched, the crews located the 13 metre boat with one person on board who was fatigued and confused. Two crew were put on board to assess the state of the boat and then the all weather lifeboat escorted the vessel to the safety of Brighton Marina. Meanwhile the inshore lifeboat returned to station.
